Who We Are
At MAS Global Consulting, we are a premium digital engineering partner trusted by innovative startups and Fortune 100 companies, delivering high-impact solutions through agile delivery, deep technical expertise, and a strong people-first culture across the Americas. We build long-term partnerships, not just software. MAS means “more” in Spanish, and that mindset drives our commitment to greater opportunity, inclusion, and impact.
Founded by a Latina engineer from Medellín and headquartered in Tampa, Florida, MAS Global Consulting is a 100% Hispanic and woman-owned company, recognized as a Great Place to Work and one of the Fastest-Growing Companies in the US.
About the role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to design and build a next-generation reliability platform for production systems at a leading US fintech. You will blend distributed systems engineering with AI-assisted development to give engineering teams a single place to understand, debug, and improve the health of their services.
This is a hands-on, highly creative role for someone who loves rapidly iterating and shipping with strong intuition, while holding a very high bar for reliability, quality, and maintainability. The best fit is an engineer who can take an ambiguous problem, independently shape it into a working solution, and use AI tools to move at a speed that would be impossible otherwise.
What you will build
A centralized reliability command center giving teams unified visibility into system health, risk, and reliability across services and environments.
AI agents that assist with incident triage, root-cause exploration, log and trace summarization, and recommended next actions.
Developer-facing features and APIs that help engineers explore data, debug issues, and make better decisions.
End-to-end ownership of projects: requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, rollout, and iteration based on feedback.
What you bring
7+ years of core backend or full-stack product engineering, with a track record of building and operating complex production systems. Background must be in product engineering, not primarily ML, data engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure.
Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, system design, state management, edge case reasoning, and validation discipline. You will be asked to demonstrate these live.
Strong Python proficiency, with experience architecting data-intensive applications and robust APIs.
Product sense and problem-solving judgment: you care about the what and the why, not just the how. You can take ambiguous requirements and rapidly iterate toward a working solution independently, without hand-holding.
Active, daily use of agentic development tools, Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent, as your primary development workflow right now, on a live project. Not occasional use. Not past use. Current, continuous, hands-on experience in the last 2-3 months specifically.
Demonstrated ability to guide LLMs effectively: you know how to break down problems, steer the tools, catch mistakes, identify edge cases, and critically review generated output. You produce high-quality code, not AI slop.
A concrete example of delivering a full end-to-end feature in a fraction of the time it would take without AI-assisted development.
What will set you apart
You have used Claude Code or Cursor to ship a complete, production-grade feature end-to-end , not just snippets or tests, but the full thing.
You have built or worked on reliability, observability, or developer tooling platforms.
You have experience with multi-agent systems, LangGraph, LangChain, or similar orchestration frameworks.
You have worked in fintech or other regulated environments.
You are based in Colombia and available to work in US Eastern or Central time zones.
The bar
For context on what strong looks like in this role: given a problem like building a tax calculator, a strong candidate takes the ambiguous requirement, designs the input flow, implements the calculation logic including edge cases, adds validation, writes tests, and ships a working interface, in a couple of hours using AI tools. That speed and judgment is what we are hiring for. For the same task, some engineers may take seven days to get to a working, polished solution. Stronger agentic developers can get there in a couple of hours because they know how to break down the problem, steer the tools, and maintain quality throughout. This speed gap is the real filter.
Nice to have
Experience with model fine-tuning techniques (LoRA, QLoRA, PEFT, or full fine-tuning).
Cloud or ML-related certifications.
Track record of leading technical initiatives and influencing technical direction across teams.
Prior experience working directly with product teams in a consulting or embedded engineering capacity.
