This job is perfect for a dynamic individual who thrives on tackling diverse challenges, enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams, and is driven to contribute your expertise in designing and implementing innovative solutions.

You will:

• 7+ years of experience, with the ability to lead design decisions and mentor a team through fast, iterative delivery cycles
• Work alongside our Product team, UX, software engineers and QA to interpret problem statements (not always fully-specified requirements), scope a "Happy Path" solution, prototype, and iterate toward acceptance criteria as the solution takes shape
• Work cross-functionally in a Spec-Driven Development (SDD) environment, using AI-assisted tooling to move quickly from problem definition to working iterations, and falling back to structured prompt engineering when a pure spec-first approach isn't practical
• Build sophisticated and intuitive user interfaces that scale
• Act as mentor to junior developers on both engineering fundamentals and AI-assisted/SDD workflows, while bringing your leadership skills to the broader Engineering department
• Establish coding standards and guidelines around the frontend code base, including review practices for AI-generated code
• Implement software making appropriate use of software design patterns and best practices
• Align early with QA on verification strategy, and implement test fixtures, acceptance tests, and unit tests to drive development

You have:

• Java full-stack experience, including hands-on experience with React and Redux for frontend development
• Strong data modeling and schema design skills, with proven experience making hands-on database architecture decisions in production systems (MySQL, SQL Server) and comfortable leading data-model discussions with technical stakeholders
• Experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS, and distributed systems in production environments
• Experience with containerization (Docker) in production environments
• Experience working in Agile and/or Spec-Driven Development environments, and comfortable navigating a transition between the two
• Experience with REST and JSON
• Experience working directly with QA and product management teams, including aligning on verification approach before requirements are fully locked
• Experience working with a diverse employee base across remote and local environments
• Experience understanding and navigating a legacy code base
• Comfortable using AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) as part of the daily workflow, including prompt engineering to unblock development
• Experience with JavaScript unit testing libraries is a plus
• Experience collaborating with web designers to implement their designs and follow style guidelines
• Experience with CI/CD tools (TeamCity) and version control systems (GitHub)
• In-depth knowledge of Agile and modern iterative delivery methodologies (including Spec-Driven Development), and the role of Engineers within them
• Expertise in root cause analysis, performance diagnostics, and issue resolution in cloud-based or enterprise environments

Nice if you have:

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and microservices architectures
• Kubernetes Application Developer certified (CKAD)
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
• Exposure to agentic/AI-assisted development workflows or contract-first/spec-driven practices
• Experience working with EXT (for Front End engineers)
